Jason's Deli

Jason's Deli is a family favorite.  We've always enjoyed their salad bar and various soups and sandwiches.  But what we didn't know is that Jason's is turning Crunchy!  Jason's Deli has been one by one eliminating bad things from their menu and adding good things.  Their food has NO high fructose corn syrup, trans fats, or MSG.

Parents Magazine rated Jason's Deli as one of the top 10 best restaurants for kids.  We can see why too.  They have a great children's menu, which features a fairly healthy menu.  They recently changed their Mac n Cheese and it contains zero (that's right, 0, nada, zero) artificial dyes or preservatives.  It is delicious!

While they aren't completely healthy, we applaud their efforts and small changes in the right direction.  For that reason, we give them 3 out of 5 watermelons!

Check out their website (and hit up their blog while you're there) to see what other changes they've got coming up the pipeline.  Reading through their blog will definitely endear you to the company.

While not everything on their menu is organic, they do have a good selection of organic items and they let you know which items fit that selection!  Here are just two signs from the salad bar.

And here is their salad bar, just a portion.  They have various lettuces, peas, tomatoes, sprouts, mushrooms, beans, carrots, etc.... plus a selection of hummus, pasta, pickles, potato salad, etc...  They also have fruit and dessert options.

Here is the kid's spaghetti and meatballs.  Delish, no?
A favorite menu item: their chili!
Kids meals come with a drink- organic apple juice or organic milk.
They keep you informed of the healthy changes their making.  Slowly making changes is smart business and good for Crunchy-ites, like us.
